Why This Reference Exists
Georgia makes many jail and release records available to the public, but the correct source depends on who held custody. The Newton County Sheriff's Office creates local booking and release records. GDC runs the state offender search for people in state custody or with a state sentence. The State Board of Pardons and Paroles and Department of Community Supervision cover parts of post-release supervision. Federal prison releases appear through the Bureau of Prisons system. This site brings those record sources, lookup routes, and request steps into a clearer sequence.
